Opening a custom 3D model
To open your model file, go to the Model tab, select Custom Model,
and click Browse... in the menu that appears. This menu also contains a history of previously opened models.
The program supports several 3D formats, but we recommend using the GLTF format.
If the model appears incorrectly oriented after opening, its initial axis direction doesn't match Cover Commander's axis directions. Use the Transform tab to rotate the model.
Want to change the model's textures? You can load your own image for any texture by selecting it on the Design tab. Built-in textures can be saved to disk (use the Save As option in the texture menu), edited, and reloaded.
You can find catalogs of free 3D models online. For example, sketchfab.com is a large model catalog. You can apply price and license filters, and download models in GLTF format.
